Research Interests

Dr. Zeeshan Tariq is currently working as a Post-Doctoral Researcher at the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) in Digital Subsurface Flow & Transport (DSFT) group. He has completed his PhD and master’s from the College of Petroleum Engineering & Geosciences, King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM), Dhahran Saudi Arabia.

Dr. Tariq research interests lie in the areas of unconventional reservoirs characterization, machine learning, reservoir simulation, carbon capture and sequestration, well logging, petrophysics, geomechanics, hydraulic fracturing, matrix stimulation, acidization, formation evaluation, production engineering, drilling fluids, filter cake removal, and formation damage mitigation.

During his academic career, he has been able to publish more than 50 ISI Indexed research articles with over 1200 citations. Currently, he is serving as a co-guest editor of a special issue of Energies "Advances in Petroleum Exploration and Production". Besides, being a guest-editor, he has been serving as a reviewer in various scientific journals such as JPSE, Fuel, SPE Journal, Natural Resources Research, Construction and Building Materials, Processes, Membranes, Axioms, and many more
