This summer, Prof. Yan participated in significant events and collaborations in China, making impactful contributions to the field.

ICCUS 2024 Conference

From June 20 to 22, Prof. Yan was invited to the 2024 International CCUS Conference, organized by China University of Petroleum (Beijing) and the Chinese Academy of Engineering. He served as the session chair for the Artificial Intelligence and Reservoir Simulation in CCUS session and delivered an invited talk on “Geological Carbon Sequestration Optimization with Coarse Grid Network Models,” showcasing the latest modeling technologies developed at DGYM.

International Multiphase Flow Technology Forum 2024

Following ICCUS, from July 2 to 5, Prof. Yan attended the International Multiphase Flow Technology Forum in Dali, Yunnan. This forum covered a wide range of topics in multiphase flow, where he presented a keynote talk titled “Multi-Fidelity Optimization of Geological CO2 Sequestration with Brine Extraction Using Coarse Grid Network Model.”

Academic Collaborations

In addition to these conferences, Prof. Yan visited several esteemed institutions, including China University of Petroleum Beijing, Tongji University, and SINOPEC. These visits involved conducting technical seminars and exploring research collaborations between DGYM KAUST and these organizations.
