From May 27 to 29, 2024, Prof. Bicheng Yan visited Texas A&M University Qatar in Doha at the invitation of Prof. Aziz Rahman.

On May 28, 2024, Prof. Yan attended the Third Symposium on Current Challenges & Recent Advancements of Flow Assurance. The symposium focused on sustainability, digital twins, and the energy transition of future flow assurance, including the CO2 and H2 value chain. The event gathered leading energy experts and professionals from industry and academia to discuss current advancements and future challenges in flow assurance and sustainability.

In this symposium, Prof. Yan delivered an invited talk on “Solutions Related to Subsurface Energy Storage and Flow Assurance.” His presentation primarily covered surrogate and deep learning modeling technologies related to subsurface processes and flow assurance. The talk received good feedback from both academic colleagues and industry professionals, and colleagues in Qatar showed strong interest in future collaborations.
