At the International Petroleum Technology Conference (IPTC) 2024, held in Dhahran, DGYM showcased its significant contributions to the field with an active involvement in various segments of the conference. The team's engagement included delivering three insightful technical presentations, chairing two important sessions, and participating in meaningful industry engagements.
- Billal Aslam presented a pioneering approach to perform phase flash calculations for CO2-brine systems, accelerated by machine learning techniques. This innovative method promises to improve the accuracy and efficiency of modeling in carbon capture and storage simulations.
- Zhilei Han introduced a novel method for predicting NMR porosity, integrating lithology with advanced machine learning algorithms. This novel approach is set to redefine porosity estimation in complex geological formations.
- Dr. Zeeshan Tariq discussed the critical topic of wettability prediction within mineral-hydrogen-brine systems. This work underscores the importance of understanding wettability for the successful implementation of underground hydrogen storage solutions, and it is a collaboration work with Prof. Hussein Hoteit's research group.
- Prof. Bicheng Yan expertly chaired two sessions focused on "Field Development Optimization" and "Integrated Asset Modeling and Simulation". These sessions highlighted the latest advancements in enhancing hydrocarbon production efficiency and sustainability, demonstrating the industry's commitment to innovation and environmental stewardship.
DGYM's participation in IPTC 2024 not only showcased its expertise and innovations in developing machine learning technologies in geo-energy development, but also reinforced its commitment to advancing the energy sector's sustainability and efficiency through cutting-edge research and collaboration.
