06 December, 2023
The 9th Asian Symposium on Computational Heat Transfer and Fluid Flow-2023 occurred at King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC), Saudi Arabia, from Dec 4 to 6. This conference focused on general heat and fluid transport in porous media and a collective of attendees with backgrounds covering mechanical engineering, thermal engineering, applied mathematics, and geo-energy engineering.
Representing DGYM, Ph.D. student Zhilei Han made a presentation to introduce his work about Utilizing Deep Learning to Accelerate Reservoir Optimization for Underground Hydrogen Storage (UHS), and PhD student Billal Aslam also presented his recent work on Closed – Loop Optimization of Well Control for Carbon Sequestration with Brine Extraction using Coarse – Grid Network Model, and Prof. Bicheng Yan shared an invited talk to introduce DGYM’s recent two years’ work about Toward Accelerating Geo-Energy Management – Calibration, Prediction, Optimization. DGYM’s talks were featured in reduced-order modeling and deep learning methods and applications in geo-energy engineering and received much attention.
