KAUST Research Conference on Scientific Computing and Machine Learning (SCML) was successfully held in King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), Saudi Arabia, from Nov. 14^th to18^th. The leading KAUST faculty organizers for this conference include Prof. Jinchao Xu (scientific committee chair), Prof. Shuyu Sun (organizing committee chair) and Prof. Bicheng Yan (organizing committee).  In total there were more than 300 attendees joined our conference physically, from 16 universities globally, and universities and companies in Saudi Arabia, including KAUST, King Fahd University of Petroleum and Mineral (KFUPM), Saudi Aramco, and many others. Many distinguished and active scientists and engineers in computational and data sciences areas came to KAUST to attend this event, for example, Professor George Em Karniadakis (member of the U.S. National Academy of Engineering), Prof. Zuowei Shen (fellow of The World Academy of Sciences), Prof. Majid Hassanizadeh (member of the Academy of Europe), and Prof. TieJun Zhang (member of the Mohammed bin Rashed Academy of Scientists of UAE).
